We certainly hope that everyone is enjoying their summer break and having some time for family and friends.

While our staff does take some time off to spend with our families, we are also hard at work at school. The renovations on our gym wing begin Thursday, June 17th and we are excited to see the results. We will be replacing paneling, painting, installing new floors and even a surprise or two. The Matador Cafe will also get a facelift and we can't wait to welcome all of our students and their families to a bright and shiny Matador Cafe.

Our Varsity Football and Varsity Vollleyball teams have been working hard getting ready for the 2021-2022 seasons. If you are new to our school and are interested in playing, please contact the school office or our Athletic Director Tyler Helmly.

Mrs. Lane has been busy showing new families around our school almost every day. Enrollment is going strong and we ask you to tell your friends about Memorial Day School.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation and we look forward to seeing everyone in just about 6 weeks.

If you are a fan of Barry Manilow, you should remember one of his best songs, "LOOKS LIKE WE MADE IT !". In spite of the most unusual school year in history, a year of hybrid learning, on-line classes, social distancing and masks.....WE MADE IT.

We couldn't have done it without the leadership and faculty that we are lucky to have at Memorial Day School. A staff that remains loyal to our mission and to love and care for our students because they matter. And now we can celebrate together with our Memorial Day School families. Yearbook dedication, honors program, baccalaureate, and of course.....GRADUATION OF THE CLASS OF 2021.

Following graduation, our administrative staff will be back at work making plans for the 2021-2022 school year - OUR 50TH ANNIVERSARY.

We look forward to welcoming back our returning students along with many new families.

During the summer months, the school will be making renovations and improvements to our gymnasium wing including painting, new floors and walls. Our Matador Cafe will also get a makeover with new paint, walls, floors, lights, etc.

We are excited about the future of our school and can't wait to welcome you HOME.

March 16, 2020 ..... the last day of our 2019-2020 school year due to the Covid19 Pandemic. It seems only right that we return to the classroom 1 day shy of that anniversary.....March 15, 2021.

There are so many people to thank, so many people who we have never met, and so many that are part of our extended Memorial Day School family.

Thank you to our Board of Directors and our Head of School Jennifer Farris for putting in place a system where we could continue to educate our students and to keep them safe and healthy. Purchasing the needed technology was a surprise, but doing what we need to do is what Memorial Day has always done.

Our faculty members had to learn a whole new way of teaching using on line technology, putting lesson plans "on the cloud", and communicating with their students via zoom and other methods unfamilar to them.

BUT WE DID IT !! WE MADE IT !! And we are stronger and better for it. We will celebrate on Monday, March 15th as we open our arms to welcome home our students to 6500 Habersham Street. We have missed their smiles and the interaction they bring in the classroom.

The worries of the pandemic are not completely over but we can see that "light at the end of the tunnel". We will continue to pray for everyone's health and safety. We will continue to be vigilante regarding mask, hand sanitizing, and social distance AND we will celebrate just being with each other.

Now, we can look forward to returning to some of our wonderful Memorial traditions like Junior Ring Ceremony, Prom, Honors Assemblies and, of course, Graduation.

Welcome Home. Welcome home to a school where family and students truly do matter.

We are so proud of our Varsity Boys Basketball team. This past Thursday night, we witnessed one of the most epic games in many, many years.

Our team made a dramatic comeback against the former #1 team in GISA AA in their home gym. With our victory over Robert Toombs (64 – 59), our Matadors now enter the GISA AA State Championship tournament as the #1 seeded team AND we will be hosting a first round game in the MATAdome on Wednesday night at 6:00 PM.

Memorial Day School – The MATAdome
Wednesday, February 24, 2021 : 6:00 PM

We may be hosting the game, but this is a GISA State Tournament and the gate admission prices are set and collected for the GISA. ONLY GISA passes are accepted. Student / Child admission is for first grade and higher.

STUDENT / CHILD : $ 8.00

With a victory, the Matadors would travel to Tattnall Square in Macon for a 2nd round contest against the winner of Furtah Prep vs. Augusta Prep at 7:00 PM on Saturday, February 27th.

We hope that you can come out and support YOUR team on Wednesday night.

Goodbye 2020..... and HELLO 2021.
We made it through some real tough times ...but we did it together. At school, we adapted to a new way of learning IN and OUT of the classroom. Our wonderful faculty and staff learned how to teach using new technology to make the most of "distant learning" - BUT WE DID IT.
We are beginning to see the "light at the end of the tunnel"and we are excited to welcome back our students and family to the second semester beginning January 5, 2021.
With prayers for a return to some a letter from our Head of School Jennifer Farris:
