Ways to Give
Gifts of Stocks or Bonds
The gift of stock to Memorial Day School is an ideal way for you to make a donation without paying any capital gains tax. For full tax benefit, your broker can electronically transfer securities to a Memorial Day School broker.
While you are considering your 2004 tax savings, this may be a good time to consider long-term tax savings, too. It definitely pays to do some advance planning with your attorney and other professional advisers. Bequests are gifts made through your will. A gift of funds (a dollar amount or percentage of your estate) or real estate may be specified.
Designating Memorial Day School as a beneficiary of a policy is an ideal way to show your support and at the same time provide you with a tax deduction.
Double your gift to Memorial Day School! Many companies show their support of educational institutions by matching, dollar for dollar (or more), the gifts their employees make to Memorial Day School. Please check with your company’s personnel office for matching gift instructions.
Your personal gift of cash is greatly appreciated and is tax deductible. Gifts may be made in honor or in memory of friends and loved ones.
Restricted gifts are directed to a specific project or program at Memorial Day School such as scholarships, fine arts, athletics, the library, computer software and many others. These gifts will only be used for those areas designated by the donor.
Memorial Day School is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational institution. All donations made to the school are tax deductible.
Annual Fund First!
A gift to the Annual Fund is the very first gift that every family should make to Memorial Day School each year. Why?
Tuition alone does not cover all of the expenses of educating each student. The actual cost for one student is approximately $7,000 and tuition is much lower than that figure. Tax-deductible contributions are needed to maintain a first-class educational institution and keep tuition at a reasonable level. Regardless of the size of your gift, every gift counts.
The Annual Fund also supports those enhancements that might not otherwise be possible such as…40 new lap top computers…the student receiving hands-on experience in the Biology lab…televisions and DVD players in each room…the student learning to play an instrument for the first time…new carpet throughout…the student succeeding in class through the Accelerated Reader Program…the list goes on and on.
We thank those Memorial family members who have made their gift to the Annual Fund. For further information, contact the school office at 912.352.4535.
